gypt Adventure 1999 refers to a trip taken by Kevin Lamb. From January 28 to February 10, 1999, Kevin Lamb took a Contiki 9 day tour of Egypt. Check out his website to listen to his adventures. The pictures are excellent. If there were only a camel along the route!
The Mountain refers to the new book, Running to the Mountain, by Jon Katz. Jon has become a personal friend through our e-mail responses and our similar interest in Thomas Merton. Katz book was reviewed in February in USA Today and numerous other magazines. It describes a trip he took to a mountain cabin on the edge of New York. His experiences there rival the works of Thoreau and Walden and, in a sense, are reminders of Traveling with Charlie by John Steinbeck.
